Delicate Flaxonesque engravings displaying Empire-style costumes and furnishings and scenes from literature (Pope's Belinda) and antiquity (Pericles) by Henry Moses (1782?-1870). He enjoyed "a great reputation for his outline plates, which are distinguished for the purity and correctness of the drawing. His art was peculiarly suited to the representation of sculpture and antiquities, and he published many sets of plates of that class " (DNB).
This work was published under various titles (DESIGN OF MODERN COSTUME) by several different London printers.
