These notebooks had originally been given to Richard Garnett by Sir Percy and Lady Shelley in recognition for his long devoted service in assisting to sort out all the Shelley papers and manuscript
They contain the first printing of the stanza from "Love's Philosophy" that Shelley did not present to Miss Sophia Stacy when he gave her the rest.
