An interesting copy, with 7 pp. of manuscript recipes in a contemporary hand inserted between the Preface and the Table of Contents. These include recipes for making Invisible Ink; how "To take Ink away from Parchment or Paper" (includes the use of a "good Deale of fresh Hors dung"); how to mix a variety of colors, including reds with "Brasil", "Purpell Colour", "Twany Colour", a "good Green", etc.
