With a presentation slip laid in reading “With the Compliments of the Provost and the Senior Fellows of Trinity College Dublin.”
It was a tradition to preach a sermon in memory of its distinguished alumni each Trinity Monday, those being honored in this sermon being John Sherrard, Scholar Commoner; Samuel Mather (1626-71, Congregationalist divine); Increase Mather (1639-1723, President of Harvard College) and John Winthrop, the Younger (1606-1676). The appendix contains a listing of Trinity Emigrants and Immigrants.
