Sir David Dundas (1735-1820) was considered a military genius, and served as Commander in Chief of the British Forces from 1809-1811. He was the author of “Rules and Regulations for His Majesty’s Forces and Rules and Regulations for the Cavalry”, which introduced the theory of strategy based on the Prussian tactics of the school of Frederick the Great.
