The complete set of Angelo's fine, oval miniature drawings for the fine LEC edition Hawthorne's classic, comprising his original illustrations for the cover, the title page, and the 21 chapter headpieces. Quite as remarkable is the survival of the separations used by the printer to transform Angelo's black-and-white drawings into the somber, subdued color images for the book, providing the complete story of these illustrations from design to production.
