D.H. Lawrence was an English poet, novelist, essayist, literary critic, and playwright who was often censored and persecuted for the beliefs presented in his works. His most notable works include his novels: Sons and Lovers, The Rainbow, Women in Love, and Lady Chatterley's Lover; and his short stories: "The Captain's Doll", "The Fox", "The Ladybird", "Odour of Chrysanthemums", "The Princess", "The Rocking-Horse Winner", and "St Mawr".
