Charlotte Bronte

Charlotte Bronte (Lord Charles Albert, Florian Wellesley, Currer Bell)

1816 - 1855

Charlotte Bronte was an English poet and novelist. Her best known novel, Jane Eyre, was published under the pseudonym Currer Bell and was well received during her time. Her other notable novels include Shirley (1849), Villette (1853), and The Professor (posthumously published in 1857). Bronte's unfinished novel Emma only includes 20 pages of Bronte's original work, and in recent decades has been completed by authors to continue this fragment.
