Sir Walter Scott was a Scottish playwright, poet, and novelist. His famous titles include Rob Roy, The Lady of the Lake, Waverley, The Heart of Midlothian, The Bride of Lammermoor, and Ivanhoe. His works were extremely popular during his lifetime and he was the first English-language author to achieve international acclaim.
