John Steinbeck was an American Pulitzer Prize winning author known for his twenty-seven books, including sixteen novels, six non-fiction books, and five collections of short stories. A winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, his works have been widely disseminated and have been recognized as classics of Western literature. His more famous works are Of Mice and Men, The Grapes of Wrath, and East of Eden
