This is the first constitution of Mexico as a sovereign state, and the constitution under which the colonization of Texas by Americans took place. "The first constitution for the Mexican Republic under which operated our present southwestern states, from Texas to California" - Howes. This copy is not bound with the ACTA CONSTITUTIVA DE LA FEDERACION MEXICANA, as is usual but which Howes does not include in his pagination description of the CONSTITUCION. Scarce.
