Contemporary French plaque binding, gold tooled and painted calf in a Rennaissance design of interlacing strapwork, gauffered gilt edges. Owners name gilt stamped in upper and lower central panel, "Ioannes Colas." Front joint cracked. Bookplate of famous collector Alfred Barmore Maclay.
