“The first volume covering five years, 1935-1939, was known as ‘Thoroughbred Broodmare Records.’ Annual volumes were published thereafter, under the name ‘Thoroughbred Sires and Dams,’ for 18 years, 1940-1957, inclusive. Beginning with the 1958 edition the sire section was dropped, and the name reverted to its original and current title of ‘Thoroughbred Broodmare Records.’”
