With a portion of the original backing bearing the artist's name and address (probably in her handwriting) on the verso of the mat.

An exquisite and highly decorative sudy of a kimono-clad woman against a black india ink background. Katie Blackmore, R.B.A., (fl. 1920-1950) was noted for the delicacy of her detail as well as her keen sense of design, and both are amply displayed in this lovely drawing
