The Derrydale Press Comes to New York

Printed notice of the removal of The Derrydale Press to 36 Park Avenue

With the Press device (Siegel “B”) printed in sepia at the top. 4 x 5 inches, New York: The Derrydale Press, [1927]. On fine quality laid card stock, in fine condition. From the estate of Eugene V. Connett, III, proprietor of The Derrydale Press.

The card reads: “MR. EUGENE V. CONNETT is pleased to announce that THE DERRYDALE PRESS has moved to a larger and more convenient office at 36 PARK AVENUE, NEW YORK, where his business of printing and publishing books, as well as the designing of other fine printing and engraving will be carried on. The telephone number is CALEDONIA 1961.” The Press moved from Connett's home in New Jersey to Park Avenue early in 1927, by which this announcement can be dated; Siegel notes that device “B” was used only on four books and Derrydale Press stationery for 1928 Siegel, pp. 18-19.
