The American Anti-Slavery Almanac, for 1839 Vol. 1, No. 4

13 woodcut illustrations. 48pp. 12mo, New York: Published for the American Anti-Slavery Society, 1839. Original printed pictorial self-wrappers, slightly soiled but very good.

Even though this almanac was meant to denounce slavery, it was a tool used to enchanced the progression of slavery. As demonstrated throughout its text, advertisement were taken in order to report runaway slaves, slaves for sale and those slaves detained in jails Dumond, p. 9.
