Beautifully illuminated leaf from a mid to late sixteenth century psalter, the text in a clear humanist hand, with bold colorful line fillers following the psalm translations of Clement Marot in red, yellow, blue, and green gilded in superb ornamental designs. The brilliant gold continues in the ruling and the borders.

An attractive late manuscript leaf, but an early extract from the Psalm poems of Marot. This psalm a lament over the Destruction of Jerusalem.
